The Feast of Weeks is the harvest festival of the spring appointed times, fifty days from First Fruits, a completion and a celebration. The count to Shavuot, the counting of the omer, is itself an act of intentional expectation: each day matters, each step forward is marked, and the arrival of the feast is earned through the journey.
