NARROWAY COLLECTIVE
Moedim: appointed times. The word appears in Leviticus 23 and runs like a thread through the Hebrew scriptures. These are not optional observances for the especially religious. They are Yahweh's calendar, written into the covenant, and they tell the story of redemption in seven chapters: Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Shavuot, Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles. NARROWAY has written an EP for each season.
The Spring Feast EP covers Passover through Shavuot. The Fall Feast EP covers the Feast of Trumpets through Shemini Atzeret. Each EP is not just themed around the feasts but actually written to serve those seasons. "Spring Is Coming" is a song for the approach of the spring appointments. "The Shout, The Sound" is a Yom Teruah song. "We Dwell With Joy" is Sukkot in song form.
For communities that observe the full biblical calendar, NARROWAY may be the most complete feast-season music catalog currently available in a contemporary sound. These songs can sit at the feast table, mark the Shabbat evening, and serve as soundtrack for the entire rhythm of the appointed year.
